My Story.....

 

Some years ago I was walking along the beach when I was inspired to start collecting driftwood. When I returned to our rented cottage, my husband asked me what in the world I was doing. I looked at him and smiled, then said, "This is our future." Little did I know then, that it was the beginning of a journey that the Lord had ordained. I've always loved the beach and collecting shells. I have always loved crafting too. So I thought, "Why not put the two together?" At first it was only to decorate our little beach house at Ocean Isle Beach. Then it was so I could take a little bit of the beach back home. One day my older brother asked me to create a driftwood design around a picture frame as a memento for his son going away to college. It turned out very well and he urged me to make them to sell. Well....I was ready to make my "fortune"! I piddled with my creating for the next few years, always collecting more shells and driftwood.

 

During those years, my relationship with my Lord and Savior continued to grow. One day I was on the beach collecting and chatting with the Lord. I told Him that I really wanted to use my love for the beach and the creative gift He had blessed me with for His glory and to help spread the gospel of Jesus. I will never forget that day as long as I live on this earth.....God spoke to my heart and gave me the message I was to convey through my artwork. Thus "Broken Inspiration Designs" was born.

 

I give God all the praise, honor, and glory for the creative gift He has given me. I hope that He will continue to use me and my "gift" as a ministry that will bring to others, the knowledge of what He can do in their broken, shattered lives. I pray that He will use my designs to show how He creates "beauty from ashes".
